Watercraft Regulations

In addition to the rules and regulations found in
The Handbook of Michigan Boating Laws and Responsibilities,
the following watercraft regulations apply to McLaren Lake:
MCLAREN LAKE, SOUTHWEST PORTION - R281.764.1 - High-speed
boating and water skiing prohibited.
1. On all those waters of McLaren lake lying westerly of a line
200 feet east and parallel with the section line common to sections 11 and 12,
T14N, R15W, township of Newfield, county of Oceana, state of Michigan, no
operator of any motorboat shall:
(a) Operate such motorboat at high speed, which means a speed
at or above which a motorboat reaches a planing position.
(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a
person on water skis, water sled, surfboard, or other similar
contrivance.

and water skiing prohibited.
2. Of all those waters of McLaren lake lying westerly of a line
commencing at a point at the water’s edge of said lake approximately 462 feet
south of the center post of section 1, T14N, R15W, thence southwesterly to the
opposite shore of a bay at a point on the south east and west 1/8 line of
section 1, T14N, R15W, township of Newfield, county of Oceana, state of
Michigan, no operator of any motorboat shall:
(a) Operate such motorboat at high speed, which means a speed
at or above which a motorboat reaches a planing condition.
(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a
person on water skis, water sled, surfboard, or other similar
contrivance.
